Why we built Verity Hub.

Verity Hub is built by Ochards Africa. It began as an engine for validating electricity tariffs — a pure, deterministic calculation that recomputes a bill from first principles and shows its working — and grew into a water platform built with the same discipline. The Hub brings the two back together: both utilities, one engine, one dashboard.

Water is opaque: increasing-block tariffs, free basic allowances, sanitation charges, and meters that are often read by hand. Electricity adds its own structures: two-part demand + energy charges and time-of-use schedules like Eskom's Megaflex. That opacity is exactly where money leaks away. Verity closes it by pairing an independent meter record with a to-the-cent recalculation of every bill — we have validated a real client's statement for both services from the same Municipal tariff books.
